Stretch and Support the Sky

Thursday Jan 12, 2023

Thursday Jan 12, 2023

This movement is the perfect quick pick-me-up.  It gets your blood flowing while stretching your muscles and meridians (acupuncture "highways" or channels that conduct energy to and from different areas of your body). Do this especially if you sit in front of a computer all day and/or suffer from neck, shoulder, or wrist tension.  Stretching your arms upward gives your lungs more room to take bigger breaths, which means more oxygen to fuel your body's cells.

Cleansing the Qi

Wednesday Jan 11, 2023

Cleansing the Qi is an ancient qigong exercise currently used in modern Chinese Hospitals to lower blood pressure and reduce stress and tension. You will gather the calm energy around you, wash it through your entire body, and then send it down and out through your feet, taking your stress and tension with it.  This is a great beginning and end to your qigong practice. It will help you ground your thoughts and stop you from thinking about what you were doing before you began your practice.
